One of the best articles I’ve read lately in grief is this one. If you are grieving due to anything other than a physical loss, such as divorce, abuse, neglect or estrangement, this article may not bring much healing to you, because your circumstances yield a much different needed response. However, if you’ve lost a loved one, and you’re walking through this painful journey, you may find some comfort and encouragement as you read through this widow’s pages.

This is one of the coolest coffee shops I’ve been to in a long time. You walk down below the sidewalk; so, it’s appropriately named, “Underground.” They have a plethora of coffee and desserts from which to choose. We went two days in a row, and everything was delicious. I had a coconut mocha, recommended by the barista, because I was indecisive. Excellent choice. It was absolutely delicious. The first day, we had just had a dessert; so, I just enjoyed my mocha. The second day, I ordered the apple cider pie a la mode. Yum. Now, it was a little heavy on the cinnamon; so, beware, but it was still very tasty. Our sons had a chocolate chip cookie, which was a little crunchy but still tasty, a s’mores iced and a caramel iced coffee. All were yummy.
The atmosphere is casual and cozy. WiFi is available, and everything is nice and clean; even though, you bus your own table. (Sometimes, that can leave a place a little less clean than desired.) They even have two separate movie rooms that can be rented for group venues. Oh, from glancing at their website, they also serve breakfast and lunch. Check it out; I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. 😉

This is a great place to grab a quick bite to go or to come and sit for a 2 hour long coffee chat. It’s comfortable. It’s cozy, and they’ve got a great cup of joe. They have live music on some weekends, and you can listen to many new and local artists as you sip your coffee and chat for a while. They even have a little play area for the kiddos. There are comfy couches, club chairs and cafe style tables and chairs. They have yummy soups and bagels, muffins and homemade cakes that vary from day to day. They may even serve lunch, but I’ve always been there in the evenings for coffee; so, I can’t speak to that. It’s a great place to meet a brand new friend or catch up on news with an lifetime companion who’s been absence for a while.
Check out their website for hours and upcoming guests.
Today is FRIDAY!! Whoo-hoo! 🎉 That means it’s time to share a new “friend” with you.
I just found this sweet blog yesterday, and I thought it was perfect timing for today’s weekly event. My apologies for not having it posted at 11:00 this morning. I got distracted by a few things that had to be done, and I’m just getting back on here. 😜
Hanna has a great outlook on faith and hope, and I especially liked one of her more recent posts of how God is helping her to grow and strengthen spiritually, emotionally and mentally. She has a lot of wisdom for a young lady, and she’s learning more day by day. I do hope you’ll visit her site today, and I hope you’ll find encouragement as I did.
I wouldn’t say I’m not a really bold person. Too often, I wish I were more bold, but my prayer lately has been for God to help me to see. “Open my eyes and let me see what and who You want me to see, and if you want me to speak, please, give me the courage, and I’ll speak. ” That’s been my prayer.
A few days ago, my husband and I walked onto a used car lot in town, met one of the salesmen, and he ended up sharing his story with us. He’s a retired South African pastor, living now in Georgia, and his wife is battling cancer for the second time. They’ve been married for 40 years, and he hopes and believes for 40 more; yet, when circumstances arise like this, it naturally brings doubts and fears. We stood right there in the parking lot and prayed for his wife’s healing.
Today, a lady showed up in our church foyer lost in her way to Florida. Mind you, our church is not just a step off the interstate; yet, her GPS had brought her down this street, and she stopped in for directions. She was on her way home to take care of her house before the possibility of Hurricane Irma sweeps in. I gave her directions and asked her if I could pray for her before she left. She said yes. We prayed; she cried, thanked me and went on her way. I have no idea if I’ll ever see her again, but I haven’t been able to get her off my mind all day. I pray she makes it home safely and that her home stays safe through the storm.
You never know who God will bring your way or why. The most important thing is to keep your eyes and hears open, ready and waiting for when He says, “Speak. Move. Tell them about Me.”
This is an older song, but it really puts “teeth” to what I’m trying to convey here. 😉 Hope you enjoy.

Today is Friday, and I love Fridays, because I get to share with you a new “friend” here in this blogging community.
Today, I’d like to introduce you to Bel. She travels all over and shares the beautiful scenery, hiking tips and traveling wisdoms with her readers. She will also give you her opinion on a few different hiking apparel and other items that might help you in your travels. She does get paid commission for these, and she tells you that up front, but she’s not pushy or trying to market something. It’s just a simply linked post within the blog.
I’ve really enjoyed reading her posts, and she makes me want drop everything, hop on a plane and go exploring! I hope you will stop by and do some exploring yourself! 😊< img src=”https://thegrizzlegrist.files.wordpress.com/2017/03/img_1609-2.gif”>
