Friday Fun Day

It’s finally feeling like Fall around here!

How about you?

We built a campfire in our fire pit the other night, and it was amazing! I love to watch the fire “breathe” beneath the logs. It wasn’t even a huge fire, but the flames blue and sweltering hot.

It’s just another reminder of how amazing my God is. He creates something so beautiful and dangerous and comforting, even healing at times. His creation is always amazing me.

How about you?

What do you love about the Fall and this time of year?

Friday Fun Day

Sometimes, you just need a bath…

Wash away the muck and mire of life’s journey. Purify. Purge. Expunge.

Blot out the ugly and the waste of living experiences. Scour. Sanitize. Refine.

Wipe off and polish up for a new beginning.

Fridays are a good day to accomplish a good cleansing. It’s the end of the work week, right before the free weekend.

Great time to make anew.

How ’bout it? Are you ready to let it all go?

Friday Fun Day

What’s your Friday like? Is it a crazy day chaos leading into the weekend? Is it a mundane day of grind, constantly watching the clock for that 5:00 hour? Is it a dreaded day of misery, as everything must be done in such a way, and by such a time, only to wait in misery on the highway to final reach your destination hours and hours later?

Or maybe you have the day off today? Is it an unusual treat for you, or maybe you have a normal four day week? For me, as a stay at home mom, and we have our kids in a hybrid homeschool, today is usually an off day. Our oldest goes to work for the day, and our youngest has studied to complete.

Yet, today isn’t quite an off day; it’s found a bit of dread in it. Today, I have to do what hundreds (maybe thousands) of women hate to do. I have to go get an exam. Thankfully, it’s thermography rather than the other dreaded procedure, but still, not a joyous adventure for me. 😳 The joys of being a girl, I suppose. We will just make the best of it…

Well, let’s get this over with. Happy Friday, and everyone! 😉

What is your Friday going to be like today?

Tuesday’s Treats #179

Cantina 76

Location: Greenville, SC

The downtown of Greenville, SC is a great place for shopping and eating; so, even pursuing TripAdvisor makes it tough to decide where to eat. (There’s only 711 restaurants from which to choose! 😳😜) Cantina 76 was listed in the top 200, and it was close there where we were walking; so, we decided to give it a try.

Now, if you know anything about cantinas, they’re typically a little more expensive than your local “authentic” Mexican fare, and Cantina 76 doesn’t disappoint. They even charge individually for salsa! However, everything was incredibly fresh, and they had a trio app that came with three salsa/quest choices. So, we decided to not resent the choices too bad. Lol.

Our oldest got the teriyaki chicken and buffalo chicken tacos (individual, not mixed). Wow! Crazy good!! Our youngest got rice and beans. My husband got 3 beef and cheese tacos, and I got one beef and one roasted chicken. Each of the tacos were great, but I would have to say the roasted chicken was my favorite. My husband and eldest son would say the buffalo chicken was the best. Our youngest would say the bean dip was the absolute best. oh, Ana the salsa is phenomenal!

There are a variety of tacos to choose, and there are a few other items on the menu, but you’re not going to find all the extensive “authentic Mexican” menu items.

Here is the website to find menu and location.

Tuesday’s Treats #136

Topgolf

Location: Alpharetta, Ga.

The food was great and moderately priced for a “sports bar.” Anytime you eat at an “entertainment venue,” the prices will be just a bit more. However, we did get a fried chicken sandwich with fries, a brisket grilled cheese with tator tots and a pepperoni flatbread, along with 3 drinks and a big “donut” dessert for about $60. It was all very tasty, and the waiter was impeccably nice; so, I’d say we came out pretty good.

The dessert alone was worth the $11. Fried, bite size donuts with “infusable” flavors of chocolate, raspberry and Bavarian cream, complete with little “syringes” to insert each flavor! These were crazy good, but there were so many (2 dozen), and it was so rich, that we couldn’t finish them all! Had they not been fried, I’d been tempted to take them home (fried stuff never reheats well. 😜). … Yeah, probably a good thing, cuz just one or two of those, and I think I’ve gained 5 lbs!! 😂

My husband and youngest son enjoyed an hour and half of teeing off, and the digital read outs gave great stats of range, height, curve, etc. There’s comfortable seating, nice restrooms and fans and heaters to accommodate the changes in the weather.

It was a great day outing, and for all the entertainment and good food, we were only out $150. That amount can be shaved next time with no dessert, no membership fee and waters only. 😉 As my husband pointed out to one of his friends, it’s not necessarily the place for the “professional golfer” or to get that “real golfing feel,” but if you’re looking to work on your swing, don’t want to get bored at the regular driving range, or you need to take someone to get used to golf who might just drive you crazy out on the range, and you’d like to not spend your whole day out in the woods looking for the ball, this is a great, comfortable day to spend enjoying a “round” of golf! They do keep a scoring system for you for a little friendly competition, and there can be as many as 8 to a section; so, with the comfortable seating, ability to bring your own clubs, and all the extra little perks I’ve already mentioned, this is fun for all ages. Oh, and a little bonus, because you’re completely under a covered roof, you’ll have no worries if you get caught in a little summer shower as we did today! 😉

There’s also a “kidzone” registration if you have kids ages 12 and under, which includes perks and discounts, and they are also running a “family pass” summer special May- Sept. For $199, you’re family can come any weekday from opening-5pm, as long as a child 12 years old or younger is present. They have some other packages and deals as well, just check it all out online.

The location we went to was in Alpharetta, Ga. However, after looking at the website, I realize there are, apparently, many across the states! Who knew?

Happy 4th Anniversary!

Thanks to all of YOU who have read, inspired and encouraged me over the past four years! You are who make this blog interesting and worthwhile. These last four years have been a blast, and I look forward to many more! 😊💗

Just Hang On

Sometimes, life with God feels just like this…

But I promise you, all His promises are true, and He ALWAYS has our best interest at heart, because He loves us more than life itself. 💗

Just hang on. This will be the best ride of your entire life!

Friday’s Friends #27

Hi there! It's Friday, and I'm a little late (my sincere apologies for that!), but I'd like to still share with you a new Friday's Friend!

Tristastar is new to this blogging community, and I hope you enjoy reading her posts as she shares about home, family, faith and even favorite recipes. She's seems like an amazing person, and she has a great story to share. Check her out at Where The Staircase Ends and Faith Begins. 😊

I Survived!

Well, my phone acted like a fish this last Monday evening. We had had a wonderful evening with friends, out on the lake, watching the sunset, docking at a great restaurant to enjoy a delicious meal, and we were headed back into the marina to call it a night. The sun had set, and the sky just had the last few remnants of the beautiful color and light. I decided I needed one more picture to add to the beautiful collection I had gathered throughout the evening. I aimed and attempted to click the button.

All of a sudden, the phone literally flipped out of my hand, bounced on the seat, flipped once more and splashed ever so slightly into the lake. I promise you, had it been a fish, it wouldn’t have surprised me, because it seemed desperate to reach that water! Had it not been so shocking and annoying to lose all that information and photos in an instance, it would have been quite comical.

So, I’ve spent the last 3 days pretending to live back a few decades when you actually had to tell someone where you’d be and wait until your arrive at the given place to actually talk to someone. I’ve spent the last 60+ hours using my Mac to do a little texting communication and to check FB and to blog. It’s been an interesting week, and I can say, I survived! 😂 For those of you who think you can’t live without that little handheld black box of communication, you might want to try it…maybe not by dropping your phone in the lake, but maybe by allowing it to sit alone by itself for a few hours in a day. I stand as a witness, it can be done. 😉

It actually was nice to not have the pressure of answering phone calls, checking for text messages and following up with Messenger messages. It was nice to be able to tell my family exactly where and when I was going to be somewhere and allow my boys to depend solely on their father while we were a part. It was nice to have hours on end of quiet and focus without the distraction of the phone. Actually, this separation from my phone happens more often than you might think, but the presence of it was always near, and to not have it there was both enlightening and strengthening. 😊

If I’m being honest, I’d have to confess, it was not so nice, however, to not have my calendar to keep up with appointments and to wonder if my sweet memories held in photographs might be returned. It was, also, not so nice to not have the convenience of google when I needed it at my fingertips to look up bits of information. Yet, it was doable, and everything in the world didn’t fall apart due to a simple phone loss. Yeah…

Oh, and my almost 16 year old son was sweet enough to allow me to “hold” his phone for a few hours while I drove to and from Atlanta one day this week. That was both surprising and refreshing. Miracles do happen. Imagine that! 😂

Friday’s Friends #1

Hello there! It is Friday, and that means it is time for our very first Friday’s Friends event. As I shared last week, each Friday I will be sharing about at least one new blog in the blogging community. I will try to share more than one, and I will also try to share those blogs who not only have been an inspiration to me, but who also might be rather new to the blogosphere. Now, they won’t always be new, and they won’t always have a smaller number of followers, because some I would like to share simply because they are great blogs. So, if you will give me the liberty, I would like to share with you my first choice.

I picked It Is Still Real because she has been such an encouragement to me on my blog, as well as, she was the first to reply to my “big announcement” about today. I thought since she took the time to send a word of encouragement, I could take the time to notice her first! 😉

Emissary has a wonderful blog all about encouraging the readers and diving into the Word of God. I love her post from the other day, and her cat is absolutely adorable! I do hope you will check it out, and I do hope you will enjoy “meeting” her. 🙂
