A Little About Me

Hi there, my name is Mia, and this is my blog.

Welcome, and thanks for joining me on this journey.

If you had told me 30 years ago that I would someday meet a man from Georgia, while going to college in Tennessee, and fall madly in love, I might just have looked at you like you were crazy! That’s because, those many years ago, I was just a little girl living in a small town located in Northwest Florida, and I never would have guessed that I wouldn’t live my whole life right there. Yet, that’s exactly what happened. God divinely directed my steps to Tennessee, and in 1992, Joey and I went on our very first date, and we married in 1996. Now, we spend most of our time creating, or just joining in, great adventures with our two precious and lively sons, JGrizz (13),* and JMan (8).* With God as our ultimate “Adventure-Creator and Guide,” this life has become much more about the journey, and yet, we still are anxiously anticipating the (final) destination!

This blog is just my way of sharing with you a little about our journey of adventures. I have always had a passion for journaling; my bedroom shelves are lined with a huge assortment of journals from years gone past. As I start sharing these words penned on paper, my prayer is, whether it be as a word of encouragement, exhortation, or just a simple thought of, “I’m not alone in this journey,” that God will somehow take these simple notes, “mill” them through His refining fire, and bring about His glory.

Read a little more about me here.

*names changed to protect the innocent. 🙂

**PS. 10/26/14: I’ve set for myself some new goals for the rest of the year, and one of these is to become consistent in blogging at least twice weekly.  My goal is to post new blogs between Monday and Friday of each week; so, I do hope you will check back in with me frequently to see what’s new! Thanks again for dropping by and “sifting” through the mill! 🙂 **

    • Sounds like fun! It might take me a couple of days to get to this, as my son is in a play this weekend, and it’s been a little hectic. However, I will set this into motion, hopefully, at the beginning of the week! 😉 Thanks so very much for thinking of me!! 😊

  2. Mia, great post.

And hey, if somebody had told me thirty years ago I’d marry a Japanese lady and move to Alabama, I’d have laughed out loud. Well here I am–married to a lovely Japanese lady and living in North Alabama. Oh, and I’m originally from Nashville, so I applaud your decision to marry a Tennessee boy! Good for you and I’ve no doubt–good for him!

Thank you for joining my Blog. Yours look great and I look forward to your posts.

    • Thanks so much. … Wow, small world. 😉 I am actually the one who lived in Tn for a while, and I married a born-and-bred GA man, but it works the same. He is awesome, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Of course, my Tn born-and-bred dad might! LOL! 😂 jk. Hope you’re enjoying North AL. We travel through there when going to NW FL. If you’re near Auburn, you’ll have to stop by Bob’s Victory Grill and eat! I wrote about it a while back on Tuesday’s treats. It’s yummy! 😉

      • Whoa! Thanks for the heads-up on Bob’s Victory Grill at Auburn. While we’re a pretty good ways north of AU, our nephew starts there this Fall, so we’ll be going down on occasion. So thanks again.

I look forward to your posts!

  3. Hi Mia!

I read your post on my about me page (www.thenarrowlens.com). Thanks so much! I’m actually in the same blogging class and when I came across your blog, I felt the same way… that we have a lot in common and if we ever met, we’d be fast friends! And when our blogging assignment came out today about auditing our sites, I immediately thought of you. So, I’ll definitely offer gentle constructive criticism and would appreciate if you could do the same for me. Hopefully we both achieve our goals by the end of the class. Looking forward to dialoging with you. 🙂

    Blessings, Kimberly
PS~ I tried to email you using the address you gave on my site, but it came back as undeliverable. Just thought you should know.
